Realtors vs Real Estate Agents

Realtor Value

If you are considering purchasing or selling a home, you will want to be represented by a Realtor® to ensure your best interests are taken care of during the transaction. Canopy Multiple Listing Service recently created the 247 Reasons to Use a Realtor® that explains what Realtors® accomplish for their clients. Here are a few items that WE can do for you, IF you become our client:

  • Research and assist on all unlisted properties the buyer requests to see.
  • Utilize hyperlocal expertise and strong communication skills to assist the buyer in making the successful offer.
  • Explain the agent’s role in screening for qualified buyers and protecting the seller from curiosity seekers.
  • If the property does have rental units, make copies of all leases forretention in listing file, verify all rents and deposits, inform tenants of listing and discuss how showings will be handled.
  • Assist the seller in challenging/ appealing the appraisal report if it seems too low or too high.

Realtors® protect and put their client's needs first in every aspect of the purchase or sale of homes or vacant land. Our goal is your dream.

On the other hand, you can use a real estate agent but know that Real Estate Agents are not members of National Association of Realtors® and therefore are not held to a higher standard and do not have to follow the Realtor® Code of Ethics

You are the one deciding to use a Realtor® or not, be sure to read these suggested documents before making any decision. If you decide a Realtor® is right for you, contact us at 828-396-5333 or info@lakehickoryrealty.com. Or even better, sign up and start your search!
