Sherrills Ford
Nestled on the "quiet" western side of Lake Norman, the small village of Sherrills Ford is a hidden gem of Catawba county. Its charm lay not in grandeur, but in the simplicity of life that drew its residents to the area. The "town" has grown exponentially since 2000 when the population was a mere 941.
Sherrills Ford is so named due its being the site where Adam Sherrill, of English ancestry from Maryland, forded the Catawba River from east to west in 1747. Many Sherrill descendants still reside in Sherrills Ford.
When you come to town, check out the Bohemian Cattle Company which offers gold mining to disc golf, hiking trails to a campground and includes food and drink.
Currently, there are approximately 15 waterfront subdivisions to choose from in this community. Scroll down to see what's available in Sherrills Ford.
