MLSCV joins Canopy MLS

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Canopy MLS, a wholly-owned subsidiary corporation of Canopy Realtor® Association, is pleased to announce the consolidation of the MLS of Catawba Valley (MLSCV). The consolidation was completed with an effective date of August 31, 2020.
Since August 2017, Canopy MLS has operated as the wholesale vendor for the MLS of Catawba Valley, providing core MLS services, training and support for subscribers who serve buyers and sellers in the Hickory-Lenoir area of North Carolina.
The consolidation of MLSCV allows some 630 subscribers to continue to receive more robust and streamlined services, access to improved products, standardized data feeds, more exposure for sellers, and increased options for buyers, all from a single source.
2020 MLSCV President Cat McCrary said, “Over the past three years our members have enjoyed a partnership with Canopy MLS that provided us with greater access to technology and resources. We are excited about the wealth of possibilities this new chapter holds. This consolidation ensures our members can continue to compete in today’s rapidly changing industry and real estate market.”
Canopy MLS, which has approximately 19,300 subscribers, is the private cooperative Realtors® use for access to thousands of residential listings in a multicounty service area that includes the 16-county Charlotte region, the 13-county Asheville region, and now the four-county Catawba Valley region.
2020 Canopy Realtor® Association/Canopy MLS President John Kindbom notes, “Consolidation is not new across our industry or for Canopy MLS, as just last year we welcomed new subscribers from the MLS of Salisbury/Rowan, Burke County MLS, McDowell County MLS and Piedmont Regional MLS. Ultimately, this type of alliance strengthens our MLS as well as helps our brokers realize greater cost savings and standardization of data across the industry.”
Once the consolidation is completed, the Canopy MLS Board of Directors will expand to include representatives from the Catawba Valley Association of Realtors®.
