Hickory’s new Inspiring Spaces plan for the future

From the Charlotte Observer's article, "The plan, called Inspiring Spaces, is hailed by city leaders as a way to create jobs, encourage development and increase the population. It would involve a series of capital improvements during the next five to 10 years, with the city issuing as much as $40 million in bonds should voters approve the initiative, which could appear on the ballot in November."

The plans include a greenway from Geitner Park on Lake Hickory to meet up with LP Frans Stadium where our Crawdads play A baseball.  Another greenway from Lenoir Rhyne U to Downtown Hickory which will eventually meet up with Geirner Park. And another plan to add a new commercial / industrial park down Startown Rd.

Should we raise taxes to attract young people back to the area? Or should we be attracting businesses for young people to work at so they won't leave the area for bigger cities?

The vote is in November!
