Greater Hickory Market on the upswing
Home sellers are enjoying a bustling market this spring in Western NC. Realtors are busy making appointments, taking photos and advertising new listings, as well as, bringing the existing contracts to closing. If you haven't gotten your property on the market yet, now's the time. If the home or lot is on water, the best time to sell is July and August in this region.
To properly prepare a home, walk around the property inside and out as if you were the buyer. Ask yourself throughout the tour, "Would I pay the asking price for this?" Removing all personal items from a home helps buyers see their stuff in the home more easily. Give it a fresh coat of paint, add some plantings along the front walk and at the door. First impressions need to be at their best.
If your property is vacant land, get a survey and mark the corners. If it's wooded, check to see if your neighbors are dumping their yard trash on it. This happens quite often. Hire a bush hogger to cut a path from the front to the back and remove any trash. This is especially important to get the buyers to the building site so they can see the view from their next back deck. Most buyers won't want to walk thru thick woods, so make it easy for them to see the lay of the land.
Don't wait!
