Buyer Agency, What’s NEW?
What's new about buying a home in the United States of America? Well, if you listen to the news, Everything has changed drastically! But, if you speak with your NC Realtor®, you'll find out that in NC, Consumers have been Working With Real Estate Agents (WWREA) for 25 years. That is to say, Realtors® in NC have been explainiing Buyers Agency to customers BEFORE they are clients since 1999 which is when I got into RE. The form has changed a few times but it basically states what kind of agency we offer in North Carolina for our Buyer clients and then they choose how they want to be represented. The WWREA brochure can be downloaded, printed and read here. But, what has changed, is that if you want to view a home with a Realtor®, in person or virtually, Buyers will HAVE to sign either an Exclusive Buyers Agency Agreement or a Non-Exclusive Buyer Agency Agreement. The first one, as you can imagine, is to use that agent/firm exclusively from beginning to end. The latter is when you are just shopping around and don't want to receive all the benefits of hiring a personal assistant to help you get from the showing to owning the property.
